The Organizers of LUMDTER 2021 conference are Institute of Physics Kazimierz Wielki at University in Bydgoszcz (UKW), founded in 1969, and Department of Nuclear Medicine at Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz.
Scientific background of the region is well-known due to the achievements of Professor Jan Czochralski (1885-1953). The current scientific achievements at the Institute of Physics UKW are connected to the creation and investigation of the luminescent materials in the form of single crystalline films grown by LPE method. Another important goal of research is the synthesis and investigation of the luminescence materials using ceramic and spin-coating technologies. Luminescent materials based on the diamond layers grown by HF CVD method is yet another achievement followed by the development of dosimetric materials in the form of films, powders and ceramics.
The Oncology Center's current work and achievements are represented by the application of novel dosimetric and scintillation materials for clinical purposes: quality assurance in radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and X-ray diagnostics. The Oncology Center with its own Hospital is a modern medical and scientific institution, providing services for both domestic and foreign patients. The Conference will be held at the Center of Active Rehabilitation and Sport (PARIS) of Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz.
The organizers' experience is confirmed by the organization of the previous LUMDETR conference in Lviv, Ukraine in 1988 and 2006, as well as the EURODIM 2018 conference in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
