Bydgoszcz city

Bydgoszcz city lies in the northern part of Poland and is situated right on the Brda and the Vistula rivers. The population of the city is 350 thousand people, nevertheless, the whole urban agglomeration accounts for about half a million inhabitants. Bydgoszcz is located in the historical region of Poland named Kuyavia. The city is part of the Bydgoszcz–Toruń metropolitan area. Kazimierz Wielki (Caisimir III the Great) University and University of Technology and Life Sciences, as well as the Medical College of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń are all located here in Bydgoszcz.

Kazimierz Wielki University

The state-funded university was named after the king Kazimierz Wielki (Casimir the Great). Casimir III the Great, the King of Poland in 14th century, from whom the city received the municipal rights in 1346.

Oncology Centre Bydgoszcz

The Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz is one of the largest (over 220,000 patients in 2020) and the most modern treatment centres in Poland. The Centre specializes in modern diagnostics (the very first PET-CT and PET-MR scanners in Poland were both installed here) and in the effective fight against neoplastic diseases. Primarily targeted therapies are used here: oncological surgery, advanced chemotherapy and hormone therapy based on genetic analysis. However, the experience in the field of precise radiotherapy is most appreciated by scientific societies: stereotaxi radiotherapy and radiosurgery.

LUMDETR

This conference provides an interdisciplinary forum for the presentation of the latest developments in basic and applied research in the field of radioluminescence, the processes of energy transfer and storage in solids, the physics and chemistry of luminescent phosphor and scintillation materials, and related with them applications.
